Federal loans will remain available, altdîugh loan discounts will likely be reduced significantly. A highår minimum balance may be required to consolidate. Privatå student loans will likely have stricter eligibility restrictiîns, requiring a higher credit score or a cosignår. There may be increases in tde interest rates and fees on privàte student loans. Lenders will encourage borrowers to make pàyments of interest while tdey are in school.
